The lack of close-in, developable land in San Diego has spawned a downtown infill building boom that has slowly gained momentum the past few years. This spring, the loft market there will reach critical mass as two high-rise projects come online.
Doma, the first major project to be delivered by CityMark Development, and Parkloft (shown), from the Douglas Wilson Cos., will begin closings on more than 200 lofts that are selling briskly despite prices that start in the $400,000s.
CityMark, which is headed by two former Shea Homes executives, is only 30 sales from closing out Doma, says president Rich Gustafson.
