Not only is Houston one of the hottest remodeling markets in the country, but those Houston remodelers are also hogging more than their fair share of the hardware NAHB doles out every year. This year marked the fourth year in a row that the NAHB University of Housing gave the Certified Graduate Remodeler of the Year award to a member from Houston. The 2007 CGR of the Year, Allen Griffin, is president of Gryphon Builders in Houston. In addition to his CGR designation, Griffin also holds Graduate Master Builder and Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist designations. Griffin serves as vice president on the Board of the Remodelers Council at the Greater Houston Builders Association. The previous three Houston winners of the CGR of the Year award include Jeff Hunt of Heritage Construction (2006), Dan Bawden of Legal Eagle Contractors Co. (2005), and Michael Strong of Brothers Strong (2004). Congratulations, gentlemen!
