When Green Is Actually Platinum

It's long been said that the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED for Homes qualifications are far too stringent for any remodel to ever achieve Platinum Certification status. Apparently, that's not true. Check out the Live Green, Live Smart Sustainable House in Minnetonka, Minn., which is being promoted as the first remodeled home to achieve LEED's Platinum Certification. The Live Green, Live Smart team remodeled the 1948 rambler with a heavy concentration on energy efficiency, resource efficiency, water conservation, habitat protection and healthy lifestyle in mind.
