Make your direct mail stand out

The reason is pretty simple: we Xers get a lot less paper mail than we do e-mail. If I disregard magazines and Netflix mailers, I oftentimes get only a few pieces of mail a day, so I notice every piece of marketing that comes my way. On the other hand, dozens of unread e-mail messages end up in my trash bin every day. Plus, the prevalance of filters and junk mail folders has made it very difficult to get even legitimate marketing into somebody's inbox.
This column from Kiplinger.com offers some advice on getting your direct mail noticed. Not every idea applies to remodelers, but some good tips there.
