What $179,000 DOESN'T buy in New York ...

Remember the $179,000 Brooklyn home I linked to last week? Turns out the real estate listing was a hoax. The home is actually in Toronto ... and is not for sale (but was and didn't sell). But it is still teeny-tiny.
The hoax was uncovered after dozens of potential buyers visited the purported address to try to get in on this "bargain." You can read more here from the Daily News.
This is what happens when you forget the old reporter's rule of verify, verify, verify or, as the saying goes, "If your mother says she loves you, check it out."
