Jonathan Sweet - Remodeling Notes

Jay Sweet
As senior editor of Professional Remodeler, a lot of information crosses my desk. This blog will be a chance to share some of that with you, with an immediacy not possible with a monthly magazine. It's also your chance to tell me what you think about what I have to say. Whether you agree or disagree, I hope you won't be shy.

You can't hide on the Web

OK, here's a basic Web 101 lesson for anyone who doesn't know it yet.

Feazel Roofing, an Ohio company, has been getting some attention in the blogosphere lately, first for a direct mail piece that was, we'll say questionable, at best. Then after a blogger posted about the piece he received, they posted a fake customer testimonial on the blogger's site saying how wonderful the company is. (In case you don't know, Web tracking software makes it possible to see what ISP a comment comes from. In this case, it was Feazel Roofing's servers.)

Just remember ... there's no such thing as anonymous on the Web.

The Consumerist also has more on the story here.
