Hanbury exemplifies dedication to the industry, the NAHB and Remodelors Council. He founded House of Hanbury -- a full-service design/build residential and commercial remodeling firm in Newington, Conn. -- in partnership with his brother in 1976. Since 1979, he has served the NAHB in many capacities. He is a member of the NAHB Board of Directors as well as a member of the Construction Codes and Safety Committee and the Lead Paint Working Group. He’s a former national representative; a former member of the NAHB Budget, Legislative Affairs and Research committees; and a former member of the Lead Exposure, Workers Comp and Indoor Air Quality task forces. Hanbury was also chairman of the NAHB Remodelors Council and the president of the Connecticut Home Builders Association.
Devoting his time, knowledge, skills and energy has brought him recognition in the past as Connecticut Builder of the Year in 1994 and November 1992 Remodelor of the Month.
"He is an attribute to the industry and to our association," says Jan Williams, CGR, chair of the NAHB Remodelors Council.
