Let There Be Light

Small Skylights

October 1, 2002
Professional Remodeler

For clients who prefer natural light in all corners of the home, Solatube International offers small tubular skylights that work well in hallways, closets, bathrooms and other areas without direct roof access, where traditional skylights wouldn't work.

Ten and 14 inches in diameter, the units have adjustable tubing with angle adapters that allow for installation around attic obstructions. Available flashing kits include shingle or shake, tile, tile retro, flat/low-pitch and flat roofs.

The 10-inch version, which lights up to 150 square feet, can be combined with optional light and ventilation kits to minimize the number of ceiling penetrations. The 14-inch version lights up to 250 square feet.
