Parrish Construction Co. in Boulder, Colo., shares the front page of its Web site (www.parrishbuilt.com) with an equally important organization run by owner Larry Parrish, CGR, CR: BuildBoulder.org. An active Rotarian who wanted to do more to help the Boulder community, Parrish decided he could have a wider reach by leveraging his company's Web site. To that end, he met with leaders of local nonprofits and paid programmers to create an online donation clearinghouse, launched this past August. Individuals and corporations can post the goods, services or time they are willing to donate, and charities can search for items that match their needs or post requests. Nonprofit groups also have been using it to work together.
