  • eBay's business marketplace construction channel is aimed at helping small and medium-size contractors buy and sell construction equipment quickly and cheaply. The site, at www.ebaybusiness.com, features more than 8,000 construction listings, and items can be purchased in auction style or at a fixed price.

  • The York Business Analyzer (www.upgnet.com) lets HVAC contractors input their financial and organizational information and find out where they stand compared against HVAC industry-specific metrics and ratios. The program generates a comprehensive consultant's report and gives users the option to chat in real time with the consultant behind the service.

  • Yellow Steel has launched www.wenailit.net, which gives contractors access to marketing pieces such as door hangers and job-site signage that they can customize. Users can upload company logos, select pictures, edit headlines and change the layout and colors of the templates. Most customized materials on the site can be processed and mailed within one business week.
