Habitat For Humanity International
One of our basic human desires is to live a life of meaning. We all want to contribute to the world in such a way that it is a better place because we were here on earth for a time. Sometimes just keeping up with life’s pace seems like success, but for most of us, it is simply not enough.
The people involved in the Habitat@25 project gave their precious time and labor to achieve something great during the 2002 International Builders’ Show. They arrived early so they could build five homes before the four-day show even began.
The idea for this program was simply to celebrate the success of Habitat for Humanity’s efforts in providing decent shelter for hundreds of thousands of people. It turned into the biggest event at this Builders’ Show because of the commitment of individuals and companies involved in the residential construction community.
This year, instead of just attending a trade show, people came together to do something of lasting meaning.
