Ultimately, Nationwide Custom Homes was the perfect partner for this project. Their systems-built construction approach and desire "to be the best modular housing company in the business" matched this Show Village need.
Nationwide Homes is a leading builder of modular single-family homes, commercial structures, multi-family residences, and remodeling additions. They have a reputation for high quality, design flexibility, and innovative marketing. The company was founded in 1959 and is located on a 47-acre site in Martinsville, Virginia, and a 21-acre site in Arabi, Georgia with over seven acres of production plants in state-of-the-art facilities. A network of Authorized Builders sells, erects, and finishes the company's products in eleven states - Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Kentucky, Florida - and the District of Columbia.

Why should builders and developers consider using a modular systems approach in their home building businesses? "Nationwide has allowed the Brown-Noltemeyer Company to carve out a market niche by meeting our custom design concerns and complying with very stringent Florida building codes," says Carol Turner. "Systems construction takes most of the headaches out of building and virtually guarantees both higher profit and a smoother operation," says Lloyd Dilday of Chesapeake Homes. "With modular I can control my costs. It removes a lot of the unknowns and takes away the guesswork. It's the way to go today, if you want to make a profit in home building," says Bernie Edwards of Southern Homes.
The partnership between Professional Builder, PATH and Nationwide resulted in an extraordinary twin, two-story townhouse showcasing a wide variety of leading building products and design options as well as superior craftsmanship and durability.
The PATH Tutorial Townhouses provide International Builders' Show attendees the unique opportunity to experience one unit's emphasis on behind-the-walls technologies, while the other unit displays the resulting finished product. This self-guided tour focuses on high-gain ideas attendees will incorporate into their business after the show. (Click here for a list of the PATH technologies on view in the townhouse.)
The townhomes were constructed utilizing modular systems technology and were built to a 90% completion state in an environmentally-controlled production facility in Arabi, Georgia. The homes took approximately ten days to build and went through more than 300 quality inspections before being delivered to the International Builders' Show. The townhomes comply with all applicable Florida State building codes in addition to major national building codes. After the townhomes arrived at the show village, they were lifted by crane onto a temporary foundation and fully finished by craftsmen on-site in approximately seven days.

Representatives from Nationwide Custom Homes, leading building product manufacturers and Professional Builder magazine will be available at Show Village to answer your questions about how you can incorporate the ideas and products presented into your own home building business.
