SHOW VILLAGE 2005
AN EXPERIENCE IN INNOVATIVE IDEAS AND PRODUCTS
Palm Harbor and Nationwide Custom Homes Showcase Great Home Building
The theme for Show Village 2005 is based on the combined elements of technology,
quality and an increasingly more sophisticated consumer.
-
Technology, in addition to permeating our everyday lives, (witness the love-hate
relationship we have with our mobile phones) is becoming a prominent element in the
construction of homes - and also in the featured components of the homes themselves.
-
Quality is a word often heard in our business - and for good reason. Home buyers
have become more knowledgeable when it comes to the quality of construction and
products. Because of the popularity of consumer home decorating and remodeling
shows and magazines, home buyers not only know what they want, they ask for it by
brand name and they know what it costs.
-
Today's buyers also look to their homes as an escape from the stresses of everyday
life. Interior design and floor plans are critical components in creating these
living spaces.
You'll see examples of all of this at Show Village '05: technology, quality and examples
of the features consumers want most. In the Palm Harbor home, you'll be impressed by the
quality and the design. Walk through the house and you'll see fixtures and materials that
you won't see anywhere else, because Palm Harbor's designer works with companies like
Interceramic tile, Whirlpool appliances, LG-HIMACS surface materials and Shaw carpet
to develop and test-market new products. This gives Palm Harbor the ability to include
features in their homes up to a year before they're available anywhere else.
In Nationwide Custom Homes' PATH Tutorial Townhouses, you'll get an inside peek at the
latest technologies and sustainable building materials, which are both growing trends in
the home-buying marketplace. The same consumers who embrace iPods and Wi-Fi are
also looking for technological advances in their homes. They want intelligent lighting and
energy-efficient appliances. Check out Nationwide's townhouse for a first-hand look at
how these elements come together in a home that's not only technologically advanced
and energy-efficient, but designed and decorated for comfort and style.
If you live or build anywhere on the East Coast where hurricanes are an annual reality,
you'll appreciate how solidly Palm Harbor Homes are built. (
See our story about Palm
Harbor and hurricane codes. ) During Hurricane Andrew, residents of the
Gateway West community in Florida's South Dade County saw dozens of homes
destroyed by 175-mile-per-hour winds and flying debris. Of the ten Palm Harbor homes
in the development, eight came through the disaster with only minor damage - broken
windows and lost shingles. In the ninth home, a neighbor's flying refrigerator caused a
partial collapse of one exterior wall. The tenth took a direct tornado hit.
Both the Palm Harbor home and Nationwide Custom Homes' PATH Tutorial Townhouses are
systems-built, manufactured homes, which provide solutions for both builder and
homeowner. For the builder, systems-built manufactured homes allow you to more
accurately project and control your costs. When compared to site-built homes, both
construction time and crew are reduced. The latest advances in CAD allow for nearly
unlimited customization options, as well as enhanced curb appeal. As one builder says,
"It used to be you could drive by a house and tell it if was systems-built or site-built. You
can't do that anymore." Builders who are faced with the demand for reduced cycle time,
more efficient construction, and unlimited customization are switching from traditional site-built
homes to manufactured systems.
Reed Building Group is proud to be a part of this year's IBS and to bring you
the opportunity to experience quality, technological innovations and design elements
firsthand.
