Great Green: Project Proves Net-Zero is Attainable

I have only been able to achieve a HER 57 to date utilizing the Energy Star Lighting Package and Mini Split single zone heat pump. Steel SIPS construction with conventional electric water heater.
This home is a 2BR on a 24X24 foot print with a 12X24 nominal living/kit/dining area with 15'''' vaulted ceiling. It is built the HBA gold standard on green built and we are working with rater on getting paperwork submitted for final certification.
With inclusion of an solar assisted water heater and icorperating an LED package as well as elimanating ceiling fans. I may be able to reach the HER 47 level.
The home price is $120.00.00 on owners lot the current energy bill is pegged at 47.00 a month.
Coming in 8 weeks is same home as a net zero or HERS 0 again here in the lower ninth ward of New Orleans.
I have two homes listed on the Builders Challenge Website under Road Home Builders.
We are a charter member of the HBA Crescent City Green Council.
