Shea Homes is not quite as "caring" as they say. Last year we bought a house, put $30,000.00 down and backed out after 42 days due to an extreme personal situation. Thought we would be penalized for rescinding offer and even hired an attorney to recoop some of the deposit.....to no avail. NOT one red cent back!!! They then sold the home even though we did not release the money from escrow. The law states the party holding the earnest money deposit will continue to hold it until an agreement is reached. Most real estate dealers will work with you, NOT THIS ONE!!!!

My Shea home is 8 years old and the roof is defective. Two and a half years ago the roof leaked and Shea Homes blew me off for 6 months before they agreed to replace a section of the roof. But Guess WHAT! It STILL LEAKS! I now have to spend $8300 to replace the ENTIRE roof. Before you buy a Shea Home make sure you check the civil lawsuits against this company. There are many and they rarely ever settle a case. I have never owned such a poor quality home. Beware!
