hello, i first used I joists in the 70s.. a lot of folks think this is just new tech in the last few years,, been around for a long time.. just not very popular till late.. we use mostly 12" not 9.5 on 19.2. gives us a 12/17% stronger floor at 10/15% lower cost than the 9.5 @ 16 oc. check out the span tables and cost per lft. and see.. usually only a dime or so per ft difference......

what about engineered wood flooring on concret floors vs.regular wood and laminated wood?
