There was a time when the idea of writing a blog was as distant a thought as going to Tibet.My idea of a blog was something written by an overly opinionated bottom dweller on the political fringe who has too much time on his hands.

Times change, and today I see a need for blogs – especially in the housing industry – and feel they can serve a new information vacuum. Along with my fellow bloggers here at ProBuilder.com, we hope to cover the housing industry with a complete package of information that is easily accessible for our audience. In addition, you can comment on the information and provide additional feedback.

My blog – called House Beat – will be an attempt to distill the vast amount of information that overwhelms home builders. I will prowl the web and other industry sources for information on the housing industry and then bring all those threads into this central location.My aim is to make it easier for you to access all the vast amount of information and point you toward the really good stuff.

As we go forward with this idea, I’d love to hear from people about what works and what doesn’t work.
