OnQ Boosts Technology Know-How
January 1, 2000
Professional Builder
OnQ Technologies recently introduced a program aimed at helping home builders capitalize on the growing consumer interest in a wired home. The OnQ Builder program provides training and promotional materials to help sales associates highlight the advantages of wired homes.
The OnQ structured wiring system includes a base cabinet that holds snap-in modules to support analog or digital telecommunications, CATV and satellite TV, computer networking, security systems or home management/automation. Upgrade packages also are available.
In addition to displays and literature for sales centers, OnQ’s support program offers qualified builders:
- Discounts on model home equipment.
- Professional public relations support to promote themselves as technology leaders in the marketplace.
- Sales-agent training.
- Customer support from the company’s network of local distributors and the nationwide OnQ sales and service team.
A similar program has been developed by OnQ to help electrical contractors and security installers understand and sell home wiring systems to consumers and developers. The OnQ Professional Installer Program offers many of the same elements as the builder program. Added features include installation training and web site listings to help installers increase the demand for a fully wired home.
"These programs offer an integrated set of tools to help builders, developers and installers profit from new opportunities in home wiring," explained Todd Regar, director of marketing for OnQ Technologies.
