Paint Receives (Green) Seal of Approval

March 1, 2002

Pittsburgh Paints has created a zero-VOC (volatile organic compound) line of paints for residential markets that addresses home buyer concerns about indoor air quality.

While VOC-free paints are not new, the company says its Pure Performance line is the first to comply with strict environmental standards and provide the high quality of premium paints.

“The paint satisfies two markets,” says Tony Jager, a marketing product supervisor with Pittsburgh Paints. “If a builder selects the paint based upon its high performance, the painter is automatically being environmentally conscious.”

Pure Performance is the first paint to receive environmental organization Green Seal’s Class A certification. It comes in four finishes with 1,890 color options.
