Museum Puts Windows on Display

Often called the "eyes" of a house, windows are one of the most architecturally expressive features of a home. A new exhibit at the National Building Museum in Washington explores the role windows play in the architecture and culture of the American home.

"Picture This: Windows on the American Home" is a multimedia exhibition that includes a time line of images, artifacts and technological innovations that shows the relationship between windows and broader conceptions of architectural space. The exhibit, sponsored by Andersen Corp., also features film and television clips, models, photographs, advertisements and, naturally, windows. "Picture This" runs through Aug. 11, 2003.
