Senate Democrats who support legislation seeking $60.4 billion in aid for those affected by Superstorm Sandy said they think they have the votes to clear the bill. The Senate voted to override any move toward a filibuster and will consider 20 additional amendments that could shave off spending items, but aren’t expected to have a huge impact.
