One Florida family is getting a special present this Christmas: a new, four-bedroom, eco-friendly home, TCPalm.com [1] reported.
As a prerequisite, homeowners Okeland and Sheila Shirley put in 300 hours of work into theirs and other Habitat homes. The family will buy the home with a no-profit loan, and the payments will be used to fund other Habitat for Humanity projects.
The home meets the requirements of the Florida Green Building Coalition and features low-VOC paints, low-flow shower heads and faucets, and natural lighting.
