| "All the comforts of home" takes on new meaning in this11,092-square-foot house complete with racquetball court, home theater, spa, guest quarters and separate office.The Eastern Seaboard-style house was designed as a private sanctuary and built in an older residential neighborhood on the site of a small home that was torn down. Ceilings vary in every room, from rustic beams to painted vaulted trusses. Lighting treatments range from chandeliers to contemporary fixturessuspended by wires. Bamboo floors were selected for durability and lightness. Exterior architectural elements are echoed inside, such as stonework on interior archways and columns, further integrating outdoor and indoor living space. |
