High-Efficiency Air Conditioning and High-Efficiency Heating

NORDYNE is installing its Medallion 12 SEER air conditioner (MS3BC) in the Genesis Show Home. The MS3BC Series offers exceptional performance. The units are ideally sized for slab mounting. When matched with Medallion variable-speed air handler or variable-speed blower kits, the MS3BC is rated at 13 SEER.

This year's Genesis Show Home also features the Medallion extra-high-efficiency gas furnace (M3) Top Return model. The M3 has a standard footprint that offers a new solution to the "size vs. efficiency" issue in heating factory-built homes. This 90%-AFUE condensing downflow furnace is available in 60,000- and 80,000-Btuh heating capacities. The furnace has both vertical and horizontal venting options, a multi-speed direct-drive blower, and a hot surface igniter with SmartLite™ control board.

Additionally, Medallion heat pumps feature a time and temperature defrost that offers flexibility to meet the needs of any type of climate. All units have a permanently lubricated motor that delivers lasting reliability and further contributes to the quiet operation. The copper tube and aluminum fin coils increase durability. The plastic mesh protects coils from damage caused by extreme weather or flying debris.

Vent-Free Heat-Circulating Gas Fireplace

Lennox Hearth Products is pleased to supply the SUPERIOR brand Universal Vent-Free Fireboxes UVFC-600 (heat-circulating model) for the 2004 Genesis Show Home. This fireplace is for use with all ANSIZ21.11.2 approved vent-free gas log sets. Designed for use with Lennox Hearth Products or other listed vent-free gas log sets, fireboxes work in conjunction with the log sets to deliver 99% fuel-burning efficiency. Together they heat a room for just pennies a day.

Designed for installation ease, Universal Vent-Free Fireboxes require no venting and utilize a standard gas flex connector. With a realistic brick interior liner, the Universal Vent-Free Fireboxes have knockouts on both sides for easy gas-line access. Without chimneys or venting to contend with, Universal Vent-Free Fireboxes can be installed practically anywhere. Minimum clearance to combustible materials allows framing right up to the fireplace sides and top.

Choose from heat-circulating model UVFR-500 with a 36-inch screen opening or the UVFC-600 model with a 41-inch screen opening. Heat-circulating designs feature louvers and space for installing an optional forced-air blower for increased warm-air circulation. Hoods are included to protect mantels and other combustible surrounds. Large brick liners create a genuine masonry look. The unit comes fully assembled and ready to install.

All models are Warnock Hersey listed as ventless firebox enclosures for decorative unvented room heaters.
