Nextel Makes Communication Easier, Faster
Nextel has the answer to all your communication needs. Every Nextel phone is an integrated 3-in-1 communications solution: digital cellular phone, pager and digital 2-way radio. And with Nextel Online Wireless Web Internet services, your plus phone is a 4-in-1 business communications solution.
Nextel offers four different models of plus phones, all with integrated multi-service capability. Your phone can serve as a digital cellular phone, a Nextel Direct Connect® digital 2-way radio, a text and numeric pager and a connection to Nextel Online Wireless Web Internet Services. Standard features include a missed call indicator, a last 10 numbers received/sent call list and Quickstore, which instantly adds phone numbers and private IDs to your personal directory. Some of the additional available features on the i1000plusTM model, for example, are a speakerphone, see-through display for viewing voice mail and paging icons and three-way calling capability. You can select from an array of accessories to keep your phone protected, charged and easy to carry.
When you subscribe to one of Nextel's cellular minute plans, you can get unlimited talk time on Nextel Direct Connect. This is the revolutionary way to communicate with co-workers, clients and associates. You simply push a button to speak and release it to listen. Nextel Direct Connect works throughout your local coverage area and can cost a fraction of regular cellular. With features like Private Call and Group Call, you get answers fast.
You can get more out of your Nextel plus phone by using Nextel Online Dial-Up Wireless Web Access Service. Allowing your Nextel phone to serve as a wireless modem frees you up to do business wherever it's convenient for you. All you need is a Nextel plus phone; a PC, laptop, or Palm Pilot (III series or higher) or Windows CE device; the Nextel Online Plus Service Plan and a Connectivity Kit.
"Since '97 home builders have been one of Nextel's most important markets, largely because our combination of a two-way radio and cell phone is so serviceable for builders. We are committed to our builder market and plan to offer enhanced services for them," says Michael Robichaud, director of marketing, corporate accounts. "One of the ways we are planning to improve builders' services is to extend our Nextel Direct Connect coverage beyond local areas. We are also exploring ways to enhance our Wireless Web Access service for builders to improve communications with suppliers, contractors and vendors. Currently builders can take advantage of the Nextel Business Networks. One of our Wireless Web Access service's industry groups, the Builders' Network, allows them to contact anyone on their local network, such as a plumbing contractor or supplier."
