The Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) announced that it has developed new courses on home technology for professionals in the design and build industry. The 11 courses are available as part of CEDIA’s Registered Outreach Instructor (ROI) program, which enables CEDIA members to deliver electronic systems education on a regional basis.
The ROI courses are part of CEDIA’s industry outreach efforts, which seek to strengthen collaboration between electronic systems professionals and the design and build industry. As technology continues to grow and change at a rapid pace, the courses available through the ROI program help attendees better understand the capabilities of residential electronic systems. The courses are offered at no charge by CEDIA members across the U.S. and Canada, and members of the American Institute of Architects and the American Institute of Building Design can receive learning units for their attendance.
“After the success of the original three ROI courses, we’re expanding the offerings to help our industry partners gain a deeper understanding of the technologies their clients are asking for,” said Barrie McCorkle, CEDIA’s ROI program action team chair. “With the new curriculum, participants will have access to a much broader look at today’s technology trends and the considerations involved in delivering these systems to clients.”
Courses available through CEDIA’s ROI program cover such topics as hiding technology, structured wiring and home theater design. All courses are taught by CEDIA members who have participated in a specialized training program and who are held to strict standards for professionalism.
