Inspired by a 2009 earthquake in Italy's Abruzzo region, Italian architect Pierluigi Bonomo designed an earthquake-resistant house. The concept calls for cross-laminated timber to make the home more quake-resistant. The structure also incorporates Passive House principals to boost energy efficiency.
