Americans moved across states lines in 2010 at the lowest rate since World War II, according to Housing Predictor.
The Brookings Institution found that only 1.4% moved to a new state last year.
A rise in foreclosures and a sluggish economy and jobs market were mainly responsible for the extremely low rate. Lower home prices made it difficult for many to sell their house and move, and others decided to hold onto their home in the hopes that it increased in value.
