AAMA publishes standards for door installations
The American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) has published new installation standards for doors in wood frame construction.
The document, FMA/AAMA/WDMA 300-12 "Standard Practice for the Installation of Exterior Doors in Wood Frame Construction for Extreme Wind/Water Exposure," was written in conjunction with the Fenestration Manufacturers Association (FMA) and the Window and Door Manufacturers Association (WDMA).
Standards in the document includes procedures for the installation of exterior doors into residential and light commercial buildings less than three stories in height. They specifically address installations that are subject to extreme wind and water climate exposure.
