10 most affordable U.S. housing markets
Niagara Falls, N.Y., is the nation’s most affordable place to buy a home, according to Coldwell Banker, with an average listing price of approximately $61,000 for property listings meeting the subject home criteria.
Coldwell Banker Real Estate’s Home Listing Report (HLR) compiles information on real estate data from around the U.S. and Canada for homebuyers and sellers. The report then provides the average home listing price of four-bedroom, two-bathroom properties on the Coldwell Banker website that were listed between September 2010 and March 2011 from more than 2,300 North American markets.
Out of the ten most affordable real estate markets, three are in Georgia.
The top ten most affordable markets are:
- Niagara Falls, N.Y., with an average listing price of $60,820
- Riverdale, Ga., with an average listing price of $61,618
- Coolidge, Ariz., with an average listing price of $69,083
- College Park, Ga., with an average listing price of $72,477
- Detroit, Mich., with an average listing price of $73,363
- Hastings, Fla., with an average listing price of $74,910
- Cleveland, Ohio, with an average listing price of $76,042
- Lithonia, Ga, with an average listing price of $77,385
- Trotwood, Ohio, with an average listing price of $77,445
- Sioux City, Iowa, with an average listing price of $80,152
