“Divorce starts” up as couples who split shop for new places to live

In the case of some real estate agents, divorcing spouses comprise at least a third of their clients, as divorcing couples put their homes on the market and look for new places to live.

Daily Finance provides some recommendations for real estate agents in the case of divorce, including:

  • Make sure not to “take sides” when handling the selling of a divorcing couple’s home, in order to keep both parties happy
  • Suggest renting a home instead of buying a home to newly divorced prospects until they are more financially stable
  • Make sure the homes the real estate agents are showing look “happy”; potential buyers shouldn’t know that the home is on the market because of a divorce
