Building homes and townhomes with garages under living spaces might work in warm climates. But, anyone with any sense in our are of the country(Midwest to upper Midwest)knows that means cold floors and high energy bills.
Architects and home designers need to use some common sense also in designing homes for different climates. This might be one reason LEED homes aren't doing so well in the Midwest. They are too big and disigned by people without any good old fashion common sense.
