I too, applaud the effort but wish for a more appealing design -- or one
at least in keeping with the neighborhood. The first LEED Platinum home
in Florida is a workforce modular home by StalwartBuilt with extreme
green features and a coastal vernacular design. Green. Affordable. And
easy on the eyes...

Dan--remember, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And, to the reader from Honolulu, I assure you I had no agenda here besides writing about a compelling home built in the middle of a neighborhood that has great potential.

An affordable home does not have to cause "discomfort". There seems to be another agenda behind this home besides economy.

While I applaud the concept of an "affordable" LEED-H Platinum home,
the aesthetics of this home are very unappealing. The urban context is
totally ignored....It could be built in the desert and relate just the same to
its architectural context.
Green should not be an excuse to throw out all the principals of sensitive
architectural design and beauty...which I'm afraid a number of green
projects do...green should not be an excuse for ugly.
