I think that not only do you need a more talented, flexible, trained staff, but now is the time to get all of those systems that don't really integrate to the point where they work together like clockwork. Work on your internal reporting packages so that the key decision makers have the information (statistical and/or accounting information) that they need to make decision quickly and correctly. You can bet that this downturn will (and has) weed out some of the weaker competitors and the ones left will be efficient and hungry.
