Upgrading HVAC systems is a great way to cut your energy use,lower your carbon footprint, etc. But there is much confusion in the gerneral public as to;
1-Payback times for all the different SEER ratings
2- What are the atvantages to 2 speed or dual compressors.
3- Variable speed condenser fans.
4- Zoned systems.
5- Variable speed compressor fans.
6-Rebates, fed., state, utility's, and manufacturers.
Putting this all together to make a proper decesion is difficult. It would be a help if these could be explained in a understandable manner that can be taught to laypeople. I think in most cases the cheapest at the moment unit is pushed by suppliers without the recognition of long range advantages.
