A/E,  Environmental Firms Set Ambitious Growth Projections

ZweigWhite -- 6/15/2009 9:02:00 AM

WAYLAND, MASSACHUSETTS — Architecture, engineering, and environmental firms expect their total gross revenue to increase 84.4% in the next decade, according to a new study from ZweigWhite. The 2009 Financial Performance Survey reports that firm leaders project a median of 15.9% growth in the next 3 years, 35.4% growth for the next 5 years, and 84.4% growth for the next 10 years.

From 2006 to 2008, firms’ growth rate was a median of 17.5%. While the prediction for the next 3 years is slightly lower than this, it’s not insignificant — indicating firm leaders are optimistic about an economic recovery.

The 2009 Financial Performance Survey of Architecture, Engineering, Planning & Environmental Consulting Firms contains over 30 different major financial performance statistics. The nationwide study also includes growth projections for the next 3, 5, and 10 years broken down by firm size and type as well as data on operating expenses, personnel costs, and finance and accounting staff. The report is available from the publisher at http://www.zweigwhite.com/zw-785.aspx.
