In-O-Vate Technologies' LintAlert dryer safety alarm
System alerts homeowners of blockage or restriction in the vent system
Clothes dryers account for thousands of fires each year in the U.S., and many of those are caused by lint build-up. In-O-Vate Technologies has developed a solution that monitors and displays the back pressure levels found in the exhaust conduit of dryers. LintAlert uses pressure differential technology to measure back flow pressure caused by blockage or restriction in the vent system. As lint builds up over time and restricts airflow, the device’s light indicator will progressively illuminate from green to yellow then to red, and an alarm will sound.
Editors’ Comments: At about $45, every homeowner should have this safety device installed in their home.
