EmailFormer governor to get first factory-built LEED Platinum home in N.J.
Former New Jersey Gov. Christie Todd Whitman will get the state’s first factory built, LEED Platinum and NAHB Emerald home. New World Home, which has also built LEED Platinum homes in New York and Georgia, is building the house.
It will be the first home in the state to achieve Platinum and Emerald status without relying upon renewable energy sources, such as wind turbines, solar panels or geothermal energy. However, it will still save more than 50% in energy consumption and thousands of gallons of water per year.
"We've been searching the market for many years for an authentic green modular housing company that incorporates traditional architecture," says Governor Whitman.
