Dow and Greater Houston Builders’ Association host Houston Building Science and Energy Forum
Addressed building in hot, humid climates, changing energy codes, and Dow building science solutions
Last Wednesday, Dow Building Solutions and the Great Houston Builder’s Association(GHBA) hosted an all-day Houston Building Science and Energy Forum for local residential builders and remodelers.
More than 50 people attended the event held at the Houston Dow Center. Presentations addressed the building and energy challenges specific to hot and humid climates, and outlined changes to 2012 Houston energy codes. All the proceeds from the forum are being donated to HomeAid Houston, a charitable 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that partners with local builders and vendors to create transitional housing for Houston’s homeless.
Throughout the day, representatives from HomeAid Houston were on site to discuss the donation and the HomeAid Houston program. Dow Building Solutions also offered product demonstrations in breakout rooms, so attendees could see first-hand the real world applications and uses of Dow Building Solutions products that the energy experts discussed in their presentations.
