GIANTS
Steven Fritz is the new president of Hovnanian Enterprises' Virginia division. In the newly created position, Fritz will be responsible for Hovnanian's development efforts in a territory ranging across northern Virginia from Arlington and Alexandria in the north to Fredericksburg in the south, and from the Atlantic all the way to West Virginia. Prior to joining Hovnanian, Fritz was vice president of operations for the Washington, D.C., division of Centex Homes.
Epping, N.H.-based EnviroVantage, a leader in the emerging field of hazardous materials handling and cleanup at building and historic reconstruction sites, has appointed Barry Williams to the newly created position of director of mold remediation. EnviroVantage offers mold consultation, education and remediation. "Five years ago, mold was not a perceived peril," says Williams. "It is now."
Melbourne, Fla.-based Holiday Builders, a leader in entry-level housing production with operations in Florida, Texas and Alabama, has appointed Rolando Ramos marketing vice president and Sandi Quigley director of marketing. Ramos previously worked for Barnett Bank. Quigley had been with Lennar Homes for 10 years. Holiday ranked No. 40 in Professional Builder's Giant 400 last year, with 3,811 single-family closings for $695.7 million in 2005 revenue.
Charles Ayers, former general manager of the Alaqua Lakes luxury golf community in Seminole County, Fla. (for Bradenton, Fla.-based giant Taylor Woodrow) has launched his own custom home building company, Charles Ayers Custom Homes, headquartered in Lake Mary, Fla. Ayers already has started four homes, priced from $450,000 to $1.2 million.
Fast-growing Orlando, Fla.-based Park Square Homes recently appointed Rich Watkins vice president of operations. Last year, Park Square closed 1,013 homes for $400 million in revenue, concentrated in Central Florida's resort, second-home market. Watkins will report to Park Square President James Bagley.
C. Alan Arthur has been promoted to senior vice president and chief financial officer of Newport Beach, Calif.-based The Fieldstone Corp. Arthur will assume financial leadership responsibilities for Fieldstone and its direct and indirect subsidiaries, including home building and land development operations in Southern California, Texas and Utah. Arthur will report to Fieldstone CEO Frank Foster. Fieldstone ranked No. 48 in last year's Professional Builder Giant 400 with 1,622 closings for $618.7 million in 2005 revenue.
