Planning Principles Debate

In the News

Think it's only in your neck of the woods or in front of a local planning commission that the nature of development is debated? Not so. One of the hottest debates on the Internet now is happening at www.planetizen.com. There, politics and planning collide.

At issue is the Lone Mountain Compact, a collection of principles suggesting that people should be able to live and work where and how they choose and that the only land-use decisions that matter are market-driven.

Responding to this argument are academics, politicians and planners. Strangely absent are the stakeholders - landowners, developers and builders. There is more to be said. Let your voice be heard.
