December 9, 2010

Rates on fixed-rate home mortgages rose for the third straight week after economic data suggested the economy is getting stronger, The Wall Street Journal reported.

According to Freddie Mac’s weekly survey, the rate on a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage increased from 4.40% to 4.46%. Fifteen-year fixed-rate mortgages also increased to 3.81%, up from 3.77%.

However, both rates remained well below the averages from a year ago.
