Recessed Light Is Also a Fan

Many builders and homeowners think of bathroom fans as a necessary evil - necessary to get rid of excess moisture, especially in today's tighter homes, but evil because of their noise and look. Despite improvements in recent years by fan manufacturers that have built almost silent fans, the perception still remains.

An innovative product from Broan-NuTone puts ventilation fans out of sight, mind and earshot. The company has developed a recessed can light/fan combination unit. Using only 2.0 sones, which creates half the noise volume of a traditional house fan, the unit puts out 70 CFM, says the company.

Broan-NuTone matched the trim of the Recessed Fan Light to that of major recessed light manufacturers so it would blend in with a series of recessed lights. The unit eliminates the look of a fan grill on the ceiling, and may be an especially good choice for high-end bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchens and other areas where a homeowner might want an inconspicuous fan.
