The Drawing Board Fridge

April 30, 2002

Haier America went back to the drawing board when it searched for a refrigerator feature to complement the fridge’s role in most kitchens as a central message board.

Haier’s line of Draw & Erase refrigerators is pitched as an alternative to the clutter of scrap-paper postings with magnets and tape. Messages can be written on the door with ordinary dry-erase markers like the ones used on white boards in business meetings. The surface also can be a child’s canvas, the company says.

The Draw & Erase refrigerator is available in white in sizes of 1.8, 4.0, 8.1, 10.0 and 14.3 cubic feet. Larger units are expected to be introduced later this year.
