The tiled arch of the rotunda, the charming cast-iron Juliet balcony and the intimate interior courtyard make the entry to this hilltop retreat memorable.
French doors to the rear patio open up the dining room and great room, extending the indoor living spaces outside. The patio exemplifies the fine art of living well with its focal-point outdoor fireplace, colorful tile detail and scenic view.
A detached pool cabana affords guests to this custom California home their own private suite, as well as an exercise room and recreation space.
Blending the classic architectural details of early California Spanish design with authentic exterior materials helped Alan Burrell, an architect with Dahlin Group Architects, create a custom home that stands out on its hilltop setting.
Exterior highlights include thick stucco walls, clay barrel on the roof, deep-set arched windows and heavy timber accents. An animated building footprint and varying wall heights create elevations emphasizing depth and character.
Complementing the main house is a detached, two-bedroom pool cabana/guesthouse offering private guest accommodations. A covered arcade surrounds a pool and an exterior tile courtyard that includes a fireplace.
