Grace, the maker of Grace Ice & Water Shield® and other residential waterproofing building materials, announced that it is a sponsor and participant in the Hurricane-Resistant Construction Network (HRN) – a sponsor-driven education program, produced by Building Media Inc.  The program focuses on hurricane and flood-resistant construction codes and best building practices and targets builders and remodelers of single-family homes in hurricane-affected areas of the Gulf and Atlantic coastal states.

There are two major components of HRN:

www.hurricaneconstruction.net:  An online information clearing house and help center for builders and code officials.  The website, which is staffed by industry experts, is designed to provide building professionals timely, state-specific access to hurricane-focused building science and code related information.

The site also features a how-to video section where Grace and other HRN sponsors have provided videos demonstrating innovative hurricane-resistant construction techniques and materials.

Hurricane-Resistant Construction Guidebook: This online manual can be found on the website and serves as a wind-zone mapped, building code reference for builders building in hurricane zones.  The guidebook includes code-indexed hurricane construction details from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, as well as energy-saving construction details.

Visit the Hurricane-Resistant Construction Network’s website for more information about the program.  To learn more about Grace’s line of weather barriers, visit www.GraceAtHome.com.
