This impressive executive estate home in Cary, N.C., features a Georgian-style exterior surrounded by numerous water features including fountains and ponds.
ôWe wanted this home to have a traditional look without being a traditional house,ö says Lance Youngquist, CEO of Cary-based Youngquist Homes, referring to its accommodating floor plan and high-tech features.
Designed by architect Kevin Davis, the home features a stately, all-brick exterior that conveys a sense of security and prestige, which buyers in Raleigh-Durham-Chapel HillÆs high-tech Research Triangle find particularly desirable.
The 9,314-square-foot home features a flexible, three-level floor plan that includes a state-of-the-art home networking system and a high-efficiency energy management system, as well as all the bells and whistles that capture the heart of the youthful, upscale buyer market.

Inviting and elegant at the same time, the family room is designed to give the homeowners something "different than they've had before," says Lance Youngquist.
Youngquist Homes president Brenda Peak calls The BarringtonÆs three-story floor plan ôideally set up for the sandwich generationö or couples with children and elderly parents living with them.
The lower level features a handicapped-accessible guest suite complete with sitting room and full bath. In total, the home contains six bedroom suites, seven full baths and three powder rooms.

Providing the ideal setting for informal entertaining all by itself, the kitchen features a two-level island that invites family and friends to linger in the heart of the home.
The Barrington also features a computer-operated ôcuedö system that constantly monitors energy consumption throughout the interior and makes adjustments for more efficient operation. ôThis home actually uses one-third of the energy that the utility company estimates for a conventionally equipped house of comparable size,ö says Youngquist.
The high-efficiency HVAC equipment is augmented by well-designed ductwork that maximizes airflow, he says.

The home is located on a 1-acre lot in an exclusive, 17-home neighborhood within Regency Park, a mixed-use community in the Research Triangle.
The Barrington at Regency was completed in September 2000 and was sold during the Parade of Homes.
