Spanish Tile Makes a Splash
February 1, 2001

Interior designer Charles Riley Associates of New York was given the design directive of finishing the interior in the style of an old world hacienda, so they looked to Spanish tile as a natural choice.
"We began researching haciendas in South America, Spain and Portugal and discovered ceramic tile applications that are just not typical of any period of American architecture, particularly on walls outside of bath and kitchen areas," says Charles Riley.
Eight of Spain’s premier tile manufacturers donated over 5000 square feet of the latest floor and wall tile products to the home. What impressed Riley most was the variety of product and the ease of application for even the most complicated designs.
"The tile collections are really tile systems, easily mixed and matched with a wide selection of accents and trim pieces. It was very easy to create a detailed, finished look," says Riley.
