New zoning regulation proposals to make it easier for building owners in New York City to make their structures more sustainable have entered the public approval process. Proposed changes include allowing owners to build thicker walls to accommodate external insulation, allowing the installation of solar panels even if they would add more height to a building than zoning rules allow.
