Liability is murky on meeting green building standards

With sustainable practices and products fairly new, legal liability when a building doesn’t perform to expectations is an unsettled area. In certain aspects of green building—such as implementing innovations, selecting green products, retrofitting existing buildings and overall energy performance—uncertainty remains, and therefore liability continues to be a difficult issue, say industry experts.
